Open education (ccLearn) workshop agenda
- Please note that this meeting will be facilitated by a professional facilitator (from Sula Batsú). The style will be "unconference", which means that everyone will be asked to participate actively in the conversations and should come prepared to contribute. You will find that this type of meeting is very productive and should give you a lot to think about and to act upon, and will also build collaborative relationships with other people interested in open education.
- Also note that this agenda is for reference only and is subject to change. Please plan to attend the meeting for the whole day.
- Goals:
- Map the trends of open education in Latin America, including relevant projects and resources.
- Identify the most pressing issues and obstacles to the implementation of open education in the region.
- Identify what are the achievable goals, possible partners, and how to move forward after the conference.

- Morning
- Introductions, opening circle (30 mins)
- Spectrogram (group building, mapping exercise)
- Participants are asked to take positions on a series of issues on a line across the room (30mins)
- Issues and Challenges – addresses Goal 2
- Collective mapping of issues: participants identify issues and challenges and form clusters (30 mins)
- Breakout groups for discussion: a facilitator is assigned to each cluster, participants decide which group to join. (1 hour)
- Report back (20 mins)
- Afternoon
- Trend mapping: addresses Goal 1
- The group collectively draws on the wall (1 hour)
- Trends as general lines
- Specific resources as circles
- Specific initiatives as squares
- Specific role players as triangles etc.

- Idea development addresses Goal 3
- The group is divided in 6 subgroups for key issues identified during the session (i.e. translation/localization, sustainability, technical limitations, licenses…) (20 mins)
- Each group identifies key actions, role players, next steps, designates an idea leader. (1 hour)
- Report back (30 mins)
- Idea market (speed geek format) addresses Goal 3
- Participants learn more from idea leaders, make commitments to participate and follow up. (45 mins)
